Youth Day as we know it started when children stood up and faced the kind of brutality that children should never have to witness. In 1976, the youth had little control over how they were portrayed and it was an attempt to silence them and to erase their stories. In fact, it had quite the opposite effect. Their voices grew louder and were echoed around the world.
To commemorate 44 years since 1976, Channel O, wants to celebrate the youth by using our platform to showcase how the youth of 2020 see themselves with 44 photographs of South African youth, capturing their strength, character and talents.
Jeff Rikhotso was behind the lens and on effects and as usual he mangaed to bring his magic and bring to life a cool campaign for the youth to express themselves,
